      Meet some of the people behind our smoke-free products

      At Philip Morris International (PMI), we are transforming our company and focusing on a portfolio of smoke-free products to replace cigarettes as soon as possible with scientifically substantiated better products for adult smokers who don’t quit.

      We are also investing in our people: we have 1,586 scientists, engineers, technicians, and support staff in PMI R&D in 2023*, each working in different, complex areas, and all playing a role in helping us to deliver a smoke-free future. Here, you’ll meet some of the people behind our science.

      Reduced Risk Products ("RRPs”) is the term we use to refer to products that present, are likely to present, or have the potential to present less risk of harm to smokers who switch to these products versus continuing smoking. PMI has a range of RRPs in various stages of development, scientific assessment and commercialization. All of our RRPs are smoke-free products that deliver nicotine with far lower quantities of harmful and potentially harmful constituents than found in cigarette smoke.
