PMI releases its latest Scientific Update 10, a regular publication on its research efforts to further tobacco harm reduction and to develop and assess a range of potentially reduced-risk alternatives to cigarettes.
The 10th issue of the Scientific Update focuses on the importance of evidence. In the feature article, Dr. Moira Gilchrist, VP Strategic and Scientific Communications, describes how science-based decision-making relies on using validated research methods, transparency, and addressing bias in research.
This issue also includes an overview of the scientific understanding of heated tobacco products, including a few key facts about our own Platform 1. You'll also get a glimpse at some of the beautiful images our researchers have taken as part of their daily work in assessment and methods development.
We also provide an overview of some of the latest publications by PMI and independent researchers, as well as highlights of recent conferences and events at which PMI scientists have presented.
