Dr. Picavet is the Chief Medical Officer as of May 2023. He joined Philip Morris International (PMI) in 2010 and during his tenure has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Director Clinical Assessment, Director Medical Affairs, VP Life Sciences Strategy Program Delivery & Governance, Chief Portfolio Officer, and Chief of Staff.
In his current role, he leads the charge of defining and executing PMI’s clinical and medical strategy, supporting the smoke-free products Life Cycle Management programs, while leading other science programs on tobacco harm reduction and nicotine.
Dr. Picavet’s experience ranges from practicing medicine in an emergency room setting to working at a senior level for various industries in clinical and medical sciences, information technology, and portfolio management and strategy.
He is based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, and has lived and worked in Europe and the U.S. after receiving his MD from the University of Heidelberg and Mannheim.
