Dr. Patrick Picavet became Chief Medical Officer at Philip Morris International (PMI) in May 2023. He and his team define and execute PMI's clinical, medical and real-world evidence strategies with the objective to demonstrate the harm reduction potential of PMI’s smoke-free products and their potential to deliver direct clinical benefit. His team also leads PMI's programs on nicotine, combustion science as well as product safety.
Since joining PMI in 2010, Patrick has held roles in Clinical Science, Medical Affairs, Strategy, and Governance, steadily increasing his responsibilities.
He holds a Doctor of Human Medicine degree from the University of Heidelberg and Mannheim.
Patrick's experience ranges from practicing medicine in an emergency room setting to working at a senior level for various industries in clinical and medical sciences, information technology, and portfolio management and strategy.
